Inner Voices is a new chamber choir that started to rehearse in September 2011. The choir will be made up of the best singers from a group of inner London state schools, including:
Bishop Thomas Grant (Streatham), Chelsea Academy (Chelsea), Cardinal Vaughan (Shepherd’s Bush), St Martin-in-the-Fields (Tulse Hill), Lambeth Academy (Clapham), The Norwood School (West Norwood), The Grey Coat Hospital (Westminster), Pimlico Academy (Pimlico), The London Oratory (West Brompton), Charles Edward Brooke School (Camberwell) and The West London Free School (Hammersmith).
Under the direction of Ralph Allwood MBE, Director of Music at Eton College for the last 26 years, the choir offers a first class choral education to our students, with weekly rehearsals and regular performances. Bringing Ralph, described by The Times as ‘the finest trainer of young choirs in the country today’, into the state sector will be a real bonus for our pupils and bring to them the life-enhancing joy of singing in a truly outstanding choir.
