The back end of the year presented us with two great performance opportunities. In November the Mayor of London ran his first Education Conference at City Hall. We opened the day singing a bit of pop, a bit of gospel and Parry’s ‘My Soul There is A Country’. Here’s a pic of us on the bridge. We finished the year by supporting […]
15 of the choir completed a 5K run yesterday to raise funds for our trip to Belgium in February. We’ve raised £4400 so far and are near to our target of raising enough money to ensure every member of the choir can come regardless of financial circumstances. You can see the results here http://www.parkrun.org.uk/burgess/results/latestresults/ Lots […]
Here are some photos of our latest gig at the Natural History Museum for LandAid’s massive 550 guest fundraising dinner. We performed Josquin’s Mille Regrets first (as the first people walked in while the acoustic was at its best) and moved on to a bit of Soulful Celebration at the end.
Last week we performed excerpts from Handel’s Messiah alongside excerpts from 1992’s amazing A Soulful Celebration at the Union Chapel. Fantastic music with Cardinal Vaughan’s superb Big Band and Chamber Orchestra with support from the choirs of Bishop Thomas Grant School and the West London Free School.
Last Tuesday we celebrated our first year of singing together with a concert in St Paul’s Knightsbridge, the beautiful church you can see in the pictures below. Around 250-300 of our supporters turned out to enjoy a programme of Poulenc, Howells, Handel, Elgar and Ireland rounded off with A Wonderful World and Imogen Heap’s ‘Hide […]
This year’s highlight so far for the choir (OK so it’s January but it was really, really good fun) was singing at the London A Cappella Festival last week. We sang alongside the Bishop Thomas Grant School Barbershop Boys who gave an awesome rendition of Shai’s ‘If I Ever Fall In Love’ and then heard […]
On December 18th Inner Voices were invited to sing in King’s College for a carol composition compeition. The competition was organised by Classic FM, the King’s Singers and Music Sales and we sang the winning carol from the SATB carol written by someone under 18 with CBSO Young Voices. As part of the day Stephen […]
We have a few pics, beautifully taken by trustee Stephen Dalziel, from the wonderful Music for Youth Primary Prom at the Albert Hall. The primary school children definitely won the loudest cheering ever from an audience prize, egged on superbly by Barney Harwood. We sang Poulenc’s ‘Timor et Tremor’ as well as Imogen Heap’s stunning […]
