Inner Voices took part in the Music for Youth Festival in Cardinal Vaughan yesterday. There were some amazing performances from other ensembles (Cardinal Vaughan’s orchestra played the first movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto and the soloist was blindingly brilliant!). We sang three songs from across the span of time: Bennet’s ‘Weep O Mine Eyes’, Poulenc’s ‘Timor et Tremor’ and Chilcott’s arrangement of ‘Shenandoah’. The Poulenc has some very tricky corners and the choir navigated them gracefully after a powerful rendition of the attention-grabbing opening. We can also be proud of bringing in most of the audience!
